Feature light for inverted dome ceiling
Feature light for inverted dome ceiling
Looking for ideas for a feature light for the inverted dome in this formal living room (well it WILL be formal once it's renovated 😂). I'm struggling to find examples of similar looking ceilings but was thinking art deco could work (house was built in 1930).

Or some post-modern chainmail?!

The size of the dome makes me wonder whether you won't need a fairly large diameter light, rather than something longer and thinner, so it doesn't look lost hanging in there? (But fully agree on the pendant perspective).
As an alternative, how's about you add a curve to that archway and then just go full on art nouveau instead...?!

Maybe even...

I'm imagining there would've been a chandelier there originally maybe? So taking inspiration from something like this.

Love the idea of taking inspo from what would’ve been there originally. Something chandelier like would be nice.

I agree with Kara I'm imagining a pendant light. Some ideas (posting one imagine at a time). This is made from 70s by Jan Wickelgren. Only thing is I wonder if it will feel small compared to the dome.

Oh it’s beautiful! So many things would work. A pendant light though, for sure. You could even do a rice paper one. Depending on your own style and how you want the rest of the room to look.
