Finding my next floor lamp
Finding my next floor lamp
I decided to swap out a tall houseplant for a lamp next to the sideboard in my bedroom. This is my first attempt however something is not feeling quite right. Help me understand what type of lamp to try next.

Lamp on the sideboard , plant in the corner!

Update: Saw this lamp for free and I wanted to try. I think the shade feels more proportional but the skinny base still doesn't feel right.

I agree too skinny and too tall, what about something with two stems that bend? Or a fatter based lamp that sits on the sideboard?

Wow I didn't even think about the table lamp often, that's cool! And then put the plant back you reckon?
The two stems also a great idea - do you have a reference image of what to look out for?

I think it might be too thin for that corner? I wonder if you have a thicker base made of wood it might look more proportional.

You're right, I think the base is too thin, even the lamp shade feels a bit small for the space too. I posted an update above of a different lamp (that probably still isn't right) so I think time to find wooden lamps!

Have you used a lot of metal/steel material elsewhere in this room? I can't see the rest of the room but maybe the material is feeling different to the rest of your wooden furniture.

I didn't even think about materials but you're right! I haven't used steel elsewhere and in general don't have a lot of silver in the decor.
